Roger is a graduate of religious studies, specialising in the intersection between religion and contemporary development and political issues. Further study of Violence, Conflict and Development at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London focused mainly on African development and politics, particularly the humanitarian and political dimensions of the crisis in South Sudan. Roger also has experience working as an intern for the Africa Programme at Chatham House, as a digital media assistant for the food security NGO Farm Africa, and as a volunteer for the Sharek Youth Forum in the West Bank, Palestine. He believes strongly that cross-cultural understanding and sustainable development that demands equality, inclusion and social justice is crucial to problem-solving in both the developed and developing world. Roger has also travelled extensively in Central America, the Caucasus, and Central, South and South-East Asia.
